After teaching business and technical writing for several years, I discovered that I enjoy that type of writing as much as academic writing and poetry. It’s all just puzzles to solve: how to best address your audience, what organization will work best, what sources would be most credible, what persuasive techniques to use. 

I also discovered planning out a syllabus with writing assignments and activities and a course schedule isn’t that different from a content schedule and editorial calendar.
